Welcome Center under construction in December 2023 |
---|
When rehabilitation of Constitution Hall is complete in early 2025, visitors will see and touch where Free State pioneers struggled to bring Kansas into the Union as a state free of slavery.
The Free State Capitol will become a world-class public historic site and contribute to universal understanding of liberty and freedom for all.
The historic site may be rented for qualifying private events.
Constitution Hall alone represents the important events of the Free State Movement and first antislavery Kansas constitution. The west wall and cellar doors vividly recall the Underground Railroad and Lane Trail to Freedom.
